GvG auto balance
Last night we played a quick game of GvG and one of our most powerful players lagged out as soon as the match started and could not join us, we were short one man but since the match started the other team had one more than us. someone from the other team should get booted as well to sort of "waiting area" or something, i dunno.

No. Your inability to field a full team has nothing to do with them. This would be prone to abuse, building 6 and 7 man teams and dropping a player or two to see if you can take out one of their key players (like a monk or two). If you lag out it's your fault; if you know a player has an unstable connection don't include him, if you have rare random drops it happens to everyone.

That's true, it's bound to lead to serious abuse, they would just add people for the main role of droppers in chance of taking out their good guy. and then the core of the group would smoke them. It's your own problem if your guys drop no need to punish other teams when their team is setup right and have a good connection.

Henchmen replacements would be fine, seeing as how anyone who dares complain that people who somehow purposely "abuse" this can't possibly win GvG in the first place.

Replacing them with henchies is good suggestion yes. For example when someone quits (for some reason), when the next 2 minutes have passed a random henchie appears at the resurection shire.

Yes that sounds right, and not so prone to abuse. I'd say no backups for willing quits though (pretty easy to detect at both client and server levels): if your teammate quits voluntarily, you get one less man, period.
It's mostly useless, by all likelyness, but it does make players and guilds more concerned about who they take, and is also less prone to some obscure way of abusing the system that I don't see yet, but some 12years old guy probably will, eventually.
My .02 - oh quoting Xellos:
"seeing as how anyone who dares complain that people who somehow purposely "abuse" this can't possibly win GvG in the first place."
--- I don't get what you mean. Care to explain? thanks.

If this was the case everyone just pulls there cord except for your strongest player, then everyone but 1 guy gets booted on the other team and you own him. Thats why it would not work. Although i think they should get replaced with hench even in missions when someone leaves.
